Problems European power grid 2 days ago

The day before yesterday, there was a power grid instability, which forced the grid of South-East Europe to be separated from the rest of Europe, according to grid operator Amprion. See also https://twitter.com/Amprion/status/1347595605971972100. The exact cause was not known by the moment, but in general, an excessive demand is the most common cause for grid instability. Birdseye thinks, that more Energy Managers inside the large organisations will enable large consumers to make better use of the potential of Demand Side Management (DSM). This is an approach that shifts consumption in time, so that is the answer to power peaks on the grid. It comes with several benefits for the consumer that embraces DSM. So, this is another example where we need more Energy Managers. Please visit the , Linked In Group “There are too few Energy Managers”: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/9016375/
